MYRTLE BEACH, SC—A body was found washed ashore on Myrtle Beach this morning, prompting an investigation by local authorities.
According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, the body was discovered by a beachgoer around 9:00 AM. The victim, a male estimated to be in their early 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are currently working to identify the victim and determine the cause of death. They are also reviewing surveillance footage from the area to gather any additional information.
The incident has caused a small portion of the beach to be closed to the public while the investigation continues.
