England Fight Back to Secure Dramatic 3-2 Victory

Lionesses' Hopes Alive After Toone's Late Winner

England 0-1 Netherlands (Beerensteyn)

Ella Toone's late winner kept England's UEFA Women's Nations League hopes alive as the Lionesses fought back to secure a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Netherlands on Friday.

The Lionesses found themselves trailing to Beerensteyn's early strike, but Lucy Bronze equalized shortly before half-time. Alessia Russo then put England ahead early in the second half, only for Lineth Beerensteyn to level once more.

With time running out, Toone popped up to score the winner and keep England's hopes of reaching the Nations League semi-finals alive. The Lionesses now need to beat Switzerland in their final group game on Tuesday to secure a place in the knockout stages.

England manager Sarina Wiegman was delighted with her team's performance and praised their fighting spirit.

"I'm so proud of the players," Wiegman said. "They showed great character and determination to come back from behind and win the game. We still have work to do, but this was a big step in the right direction."
