Perdue Foods LLC, a Perry, Ga-based establishment, is recalling approximately 167,171 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nuggets and tenders due to possible metal contamination.
The affected products have a best-if-used-by date of March 23, 2025.
Reason for the Recall
The recall was initiated after the company received consumer complaints about finding metal pieces in the products.
The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for the affected products.

- 48-oz. packages of "PERDUE Simply Smart Organics Gluten Free Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets"
- 5-lb. bags of "PERDUE Chicken Plus Breaded Breast Tenderloins"
- 42-oz. bags of "PERDUE Chicken Plus Fully Cooked Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets"

Consumers who have purchased the affected products are urged not to consume them.
They can return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Additional Information
The FSIS advises consumers to practice safe food handling practices to prevent foodborne illness.
