Argentina Announce Olympic Squad
Four WC Players Nominated
Argentina has a rich pedigree on the Olympic stage, picking up their first medal in their debut campaign in 1928, albeit a defeat. They will be looking to add to their medal tally at the upcoming Paris Olympics, and they have named a strong squad to do so.
The squad includes Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez and Benfica's Enzo Fernandez, both of whom were part of Argentina's World Cup squad in Qatar. Javier Mascherano, who is now the Argentina U23 head coach, has also named four other players who were part of the World Cup squad: goalkeeper Franco Armani, defender Nicolas Otamendi, and midfielders Leandro Paredes and Rodrigo De Paul.
Argentina will be hoping to make a major impact at the Olympics, and they will be one of the favorites to win the gold medal. They will face Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Spain in Group B.
